The draw for the UEFA Champions League playoffs took place on 13 December 2021. This important event made it into all world sports news, primarily due to a technical error that forced the organizers to repeat the process.

All 12 teams participating in the playoffs are already known, here is the list:

What happened during the selection of teams for the 1/8 finals? The head of the Union of European Football Associations expressed his opinion:

During the selection of opponents, two teams that had previously played in the same group got into one pair - and this is directly prohibited by the rules of the tournament. We are talking about the teams Villarreal (Spain) and Manchester United (England). Their last meeting took place on November 23 and ended with the victory of the British with a score of 2: 0 (goal by Cristiano Ronadlu and Sancho).
